On the surface OiNK may seem like it’s just an incredibly silly and random comic, however it was two years in the making and publisher IPC Magazines saw it as an important new publication, not just for their range but possibly for the UK industry as a whole. As such, the marketing for OiNK was on another level compared to previous comics. Often coming across as quite insane, behind the scenes it was a carefully choreographed plan to get it into the trotters of a new audience of ‘precocious’ 80s kids.
